ankarsrum blender

Not about baking, but I hope mods will let it live , please. Nowhere else to ask.

It seems that the blender is no longer in production. From their blog it seems that there is a new model coming up - but no updates for 2 months now.

Do you all know what is coming? Also, was the blender any good?

My high-end Oster Versa blender failed due to user clumsiness. It is only 3 years old and no parts available.... Stay away from Oster is all I can say. $200 door stop.

Don’t know about the others but I swear by my Vita Mix.  It’s kind of a one and done purchase according to friends who have had the same ones for 10 years or longer.  Might consider it if you can’t get your chosen brand.

Sad, because older Oster blenders all had compatible parts (the main parts at least). I guess they discovered that making a product that can actually be repaired was not good for short-term profits.

Ankarsrum seems to change very very slowly. I suspect that "Don't hold your breath" is probably the best thing to say right now.

which I bought along with the Ankarsrum Magic Mill almost 20 years ago. It was terrific but unfortunately due to "user clumsiness" the bottom connection to the base got stripped. I tried to find a replacement part for 10 years with no success. Buying a VitaMix sounds like a good plan.

I submitted a question for the USA distributor, here is how they responded:

"So glad you are enjoying your mixer. Yes, there is a new blender being developed by Ankarsrum but it does not look like it will begin production until later this Summer and then we will have to wait for it to arrive here in the States so I am thinking it will be Fall before we see them. And to be totally honest, this new blender project is two years old and we were expecting them the Summer of 2017. If you follow our blog and social media pages, we will for sure let everyone know once the blenders are on their way here. "

BTW - I tried calling Oster on Friday. Was on hold for 55 minutes and gave up. That company is worse than worthless. I may go with blendtec or vitamix - they are not much over $200 on sale these days. I am done buying poorly made kitchen stuff, KA and Oster used to be reputable companies, no more.

Sorry to hear about the delay. I'm predicting a triumphant rollout of the new blender in 2026. ☺️
