Sad news. Another great gone.
In baking, his memorable recounting of sourdough feeding (feed the bitch! Or she will die!) Runs through my thoughts every time I refresh my little jar.
An inspiration to cooks and others.
I'll miss him.

I don't know that we would ever have been friends, if that had been a possibility. His approach to things was so different than mine. But I did enjoy watching his shows and am grateful for the insider's look at the hospitality industry he provided.
