Baparoma Steam Baking Master

I've just bought one off ebay, and found the instructions, thanks to this site! I also read about it in RLB's The Bread Bible. Am I correct in thinking that the lid stays on through the whole baking period? Nowhere does anyone say to take it off at any point.
