Back to Baking
My wife and I just returned from celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in Paris. The only surprise is I don't have gout!!! We had great breads, brioche, and viennoiserie. One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to Poilâne. I felt like I was making a pilgrimage. Poilâne's miche is a site to behold and I was so happy to be able to sample a slice. It was delicious. Period. And the slices I bought remained moist, pliable and edible for three days! Amazing for sliced bread. Missing the great breads of Paris I needed to bake bread immediately. I am pleased with these results.
and you made the best of it! Very pretty loaf and ideal crumb - enjoy!

Your loaf looks great!
Thank you both!
Paris and Poilane for an anniversary is tough to beat. So what does a slice of that monster bread cost now a days?
Your bread looks delicious too!
Well done and happy baking
Thanks dabrownman. I'm afraid I don't' know what a slice cost. They sell it by weight (although I don't remember what it cost per gram). We bought a small apple tart in addition to a few slices of the miche. I think it was around 7 or 8 euros total.
