Big Flavorful "Diner Style" Corn Muffins

I grew up on Long Island, but my dad occasionally worked in Queens and Manhattan and would sometimes come home with corn muffins from the Blue Bay Diner that were HUGE and fantastic. They were the kind that you'd cut in half and put on the grill to toast. Not too sweet, not crumbly, but ones that you could cut into big pieces and have with your coffee. I am looking for a similar recipe. I've made a bunch of muffin recipes, including one from America's Test Kitchen that kind of approached the flavor/consistency, but didn't quite get there. An Internet search produced only two real results - a recipe from Juniors restaurant in Brooklyn, and some other thread with a recipe for "diner style muffins" that no one appears to have actually baked. Would love any tips on finding these great Greek diner style muffins, including blueberry.

Thank you!
