Typing the ° Degree Symbol
Typing the ° Degree Symbol
If you would like to make the ° symbol when typing, you can use these methods:
- On PCs - hold down the Alt key and on the numeric keypad on the right of the keyboard, type 0176
°
Thanks
AltGr SHIFT 0
(that's a zero)
Today its a nice 22 °C in the bakehouse...
Maybe this only works in linux though... The unicode way is shict+ctrl u then the unicode code which is b0 for °.
Could also use ℃if you like. The joys of character encoding... Once upon a time it was simple ASCII...

On a Mac, type Option+K to get ˚
On the Mac "option K" gives ˚. "Option Shift 8" gives ° ˚ vs ° .
with the iPad, hold down the zero (the degree symbol appears) then slide your finger onto it and release. °
:>Ÿ<: Early Bird with a worm: y hold/slide ÿ
opens up a whole new bunch of symbols that I didn't know were there on the ipad! ëęê. ï î ø œ and so on. °C is now a breeze.
