Seeking for suggestion on electric oven

Hi all,

I'm looking for an electric oven for home, mainly for baking.  I have no pre-set budget but size is my concern.

Today steam ejection feature is quite popular.  Recommendation would be appreciated.

Thanks

A week ago my Frigidaire electric oven turned its top burners on by itself and couldn't be turned off. I later discovered that my oven was part of a 2009 recall as a fire hazard, but I had not been notified. I read a lot of customer reviews on line for most popular brand ovens and they all got very low ratings. Very frustrating, since I would never buy that brand again.

About six months ago I purchased an LG LRE 3083 electric oven that I really like. I've lined the racks with unglazed quarry tile and I've been able to produce great breads ever since (well, when I'm not successfully over-proofing or otherwise mismanaging the dough.) It does a great job of retaining steam created in the oven. The only complaint I have has to do with the burners. The 3083 has one small and one combination small/large front burner. After using the stove top I would have preferred to have two combination front burners instead (that's a feature of the LRE 3085.)

but a general recommendation.  I replaced my oven late last year with a double oven.  The lower oven, which is the larger of the two, is what I use for baking, almost exclusively.  The upper oven is for everything else with few exceptions.  As I keep a deck of baking tiles and a pan of lava rocks for steaming in the lower oven at all times, it negates having to remove and replace these with each non bread usage.

Steam ejection surely is a nice-to-have, but for me is a non issue as I have a truly viable alternative as mentioned above.  This also eliminates any additional costs of reconfigured plumbing to deliver water, or for the oven feature itself.  (or for a future problem or part breakdown!)

We have a Bosch double oven which I'd happily recommend.

The two best features, to my mind, are that the thermostat is very accurate (checked against two different makes of oven thermometer) and the large oven will go up to 290°C (~555°F). That temperature is supposed to be used for cleaning the oven but it gives my loaves great oven spring during the first five minutes before I turn it down for the remainder of the bake.

Whatever make you go for, do check on the highest temperature it can achieve because many ovens have trouble reaching such a useful level.

Also, having two ovens is handy for proving in one while the other comes up to your desired baking temperature.
