My new ankarsrum mixer is hot and noisy??

I just got my new ankarsrum stand mixer last week. I have used it to make bread and pizza dough two times. I am really happy with the results. However, I noticed that the ankarsrum will be hot after running 12 mins at speed 5. The motor of my mixer is loud, and it is definitely louder than my KitchenAid pro. I want to know whether this is normal for new ankarsrum. I hope that I didn't get a lemon.

My DLX (an older name for the same device) is considerably older than yours by a long shot and is definitely quieter than my even older KA.  To be on the safe side, check your warranty AND get in touch with the company.  Ask them what they're going to do to help you.

Prank,  what part is getting hot -  near the arm, by the base?

It is the bottom of the arm around the base. The bottom of arm is hottest and other parts of base is better than arm.

I would call whoever you purchased it from.

Sounds like a bearing to me. Yes, definitely get help for it before anything more travels through the machine and it becomes a bigger repair.

Please let us know how you make out.
