Korean filled fish-shaped buns - egg free, no fish
OK, so I'd be the first to admit that these buns are not authenically Korean, as the originals have sweetened red bean paste as a filling. But they do make an attractive and tasty snack for the kids, and are easy to make. You essentially make a batter (without eggs in our case), and use whatever is your preferred filling (we used applesauce and raisins). Click here for the full recipe and procedure. The mold is available on Amazon if you want to try them. My wife has fond memories of eating some of these hot from the stalls of the vendors who set up shop outside her school in Korea.
Hi, do you have a recipe that includes eggs? These look so nice.
We never make them with eggs, as we have egg allergies in our house. But it is basically just a conventional pancake batter,.
Thank you. I did a bit of googling and found a recipe that includes eggs, and it had a custard filling as well.
