Buying from Central Milling store in Petaluma
Hi,
Are there any folks from south bay interested in buying from Central Milling store in Petaluma? Or is there any group of people from SFO / South bay regularly driving there? If so, I'm interested in joining such a group as I need to buy Durum wheat berries every 4 months or so and would like to avoid 3 hr driving each time.

Hello from East bay. I used to make this pilgramage as well, but recently stopped, as I have an agreement with a bakery where they tack my flour onto their order, and I pay them for the flour. Have you tried calling around to some bakerys around your area, to see if any of them would be open to this?
They send delivery trucks out all over the bay area, and they're really good ppl. So maybe you could make a delivery arrangement with them?
If you get any more information I would be interested in some of their Organic Artisan Bakers Craft plus malted flour. I might go up to Giusto's instead since SFO is a lot closer than Petaluma. I live just north of San Jose. But I am not sure which flour to get at Giusto's that would compare.

Thanks for your reply. They do deliver but currently for min order of 10 50LB bags. So, I ended up getting my berries shipped from them. They gave better rate for shipping as well as berries this time due to repeat customer. The quality of berries is excellent. Including shipping the cost for 1 50LB wheat berries is cheaper than Wholefoods! thus a good deal. Within bay area shipment arrived next day.

May be every 3 months, enough of south bay people order to make 10 - 50LB bags to get delivery to south bay.
