Okay, so it isn't bread . . .
but you might want to try it anyway.
It's fresh peach time and I had a juicy, ripe peach and some vanilla ice cream. Not being content to simply gild the lily and put the two together, I tried a little experiment. First I peeled the peach and sliced it into a bowl. It was seet enough that no additional sugar was needed. Then I sprinkled on a light dusting of Penzeys Baking Spice. You could accomplish the same thing with a little cinnamon and nutmeg, or mace, or whatever you like best on peaches. After a quick stir to distribute the spice evenly through the peaches, I popped it into the microwave for a minute or so, until the peaches were thoroughly warmed and the spices were aromatic. Then I plopped a big scoop of vanilla ice cream into the bowl. Oh, yum! It was like eating a peach cobbler or pie, sans crust.
I'm not going to stop making pies or cobblers, but this worked just great for a quick and easy dessert with very little time or effort to prep. And it's way too good to keep to myself.
Enjoy!

just the thing for a warm afternoon like this.
