How did you bake the loaf in front? Looks like it is a cylinder so I am thinking in a can??? But it would have ad to be a large can of some kind.
Do you freeze the extra or do you sell your breads?
It is nice to see you posting now. When I wanted to make my own clay pot baker it was an old post of yours that taught me how to do it so it is kinda like a part of you is sitting with all of my baking supplies even though I have never met you :) Now I get to THANK YOU for taking the time to take a picture of yours and post it here!
I could not resist. I just love gadgets and interesting things...practical or not. Just ordered one of those Pyrex tubes. Few bucks on ebay and now I have a new toy.
enjoy your pyrex tube.. make sure you don.t over fill it. For what.s worth I put a stop at each end so the dough bakes in line with the tube without bulging out ,,, I know,,,, mind your own business qahtan,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, qahtan
NO qahtan, actually the opposite. Please do give me all the tips and tricks with this thing...I just want to play and give my friends a loaf they have never seen. What did you stop up the ends with???
Just a square of a strong cardboard wedged in between the tube and the metal handle. don.t forget to grease the cardboard,,, the tube is large enough to get your hand i it to grease that also. qahtan
I have one, which I probably will NEVER use, down here in my Mom's kitchen stuff. Actually, I have another one, up in VA! A friend who worked at Goodwill gifted me with it. The VA one is still in the original box, with the printed instructions...Mom's is simply the glass tube/holder.
They should last you awhile, qahtan, or not!
yes i double wrap and freeze.. qahtan
Wow. These are all really nice!

You can do a search here for the Pyrex Bake Around for more info. Don't think they are available any more except via ebay, etc.

I came across one of those a couple of years back in a thrift store. I wondered what it was and passed on buying it.
A decision I STILL regret!
I know the feeling......... qahtan...
