low carb bread using a mixer
bread mixer loaf
hello experts!
our B&D breadmachine is wearing out and the new one (same model - cheaper built) is throwing the paddles at us!
so we saw a KA mixer on sale....
but we have no idea how long to mix it for! and what temperature in the oven and for how long etc etc.
here is the recipe we have used for ages to make a very nice LO CARB loaf.
Put the ingredients in your bread machine in the order given, and run the machine. Remove the
loaf from the machine and bread case promptly to cool.
Yield: About 10 slices, each with 13 grams of carbohydrates and 7.5 grams of fiber, for a total of
5.5 grams of usable carbs and 19 grams of protein (more than two eggs!).
2 Pound Loaf
1 cup warm water
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons soft butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt (2 tspns is too salty)
1 1/2 cups vital wheat gluten
4 tablespoons raw wheat germ
4 tablespoons wheat bran
1/2 cup psyllium husks
1 cup oat flour
1 cup vanilla-flavored whey protein powder
4 teaspoons yeast
