Whole wheat in mini Zo

Newbie here but have done lots of reading.  Just got a mini Zo and so far have had fantastic results with half white/half ww multigrain flour loaves.  The mini Zo doesn't have a whole wheat setting, and I understand WW will need a longer knead and/or rise to develop gluten (+/- some added vital wheat gluten).  Somewhere I read a suggestion to make WW in the mini Zo by restarting after the first knead/rise of the regular bread cycle so that the dough gets an extra knead and rise.  I'm also wondering if using the french bread cycle (much longer rise with 5+ hour total cycle time) would help.  Any suggestions on best approach to try whole wheat in the mini Zo would be greatly appreciated (including if I should not attempt it to avoid overtaxing the motor, because I would hate to burn out this awesome little machine!).
