Burnt Pizza Crust
I removed the honey from my pizza dough recipe thinking that was the reason the bottom burnt every time I baked it. Not true, it burnt again today, and I only heated the BBQ to 500 degrees.
I would really appreciate any input from my fellow bakers who might have had the same problem. I can't figure it out.
Thanks for any help
Pauly

Hi Pauly,
Not sure that I can help??? I always cook my pizzas in our hooded BBQ and I've never had a burnt base or crust and I've used recipes with both sugar and honey.
This was the last recipe I used and I loved this recipe!!!

I place my pizza stones directly onto the BBQ grills and heat the BBQ to 500F, then I always turn the middle burner OFF and use the two end burners to control the temp. Once I forgot to turn the middle burner off and burnt the bottom of my roast pork :((( Are you cooking your pizzas with all the burner on???
I'm probably not much help, but worth a try :)
Cheers Sonia
I suspect you are not using a pizza stone?
More details of your recipe and procedure would be a great help.
