Hello from Jersey City

Hello!

I only recently found this forum, although I've been futzing around with baking for a while, but I haven't been doing too much bread baking until recently. My grandmother used to let me "help" make bread when I was a tiny kid and I still have a lot of very fond memories of hanging out in her kitchen trying to learn how to knead bread.

I was gifted a La Cloche a few months ago as a wedding present, and I am sad to say that I only just recently broke it out to try, and was blown away with how nice it made a simple bread, so I've been playing around with it a bit more and stumbled over this site in researching more recipes to try.  So far I've yet to make any loaves with nice big bubbles in them, although all my "failures" have been pretty tasty anyway.

I have two nieces who have celiac, so I'm looking forward to trying my hand at some gluten free recipes- I already make them a lot of muffins and quick breads and I'm intrigued to try some yeasted breads for them.

Here is one of my recent efforts, the whole wheat basic recipe from the Healthy Breads in 5 Minutes a Day book.  I'm looking forward to learning how to make some great breads from this site!
