Floyd- How do I

At the risk of sounding like a complete fool.  Here I go.

I went to my "My Account", then to "My Subscriptions", then to "Blogs", and I get this-- "You are not currently subscribed to any active blogs"

Well, how do I subscribe to some peoples blogs?

Or is this not what it is for?

I know it may sound kinda kookie, but there are some folks here that I REALLY respect the information of, and was hoping to be able to add their blogs onto a tab so I could keep going back to their posts without having to do a raw search each time.

For example SourdoLady had her SD Starter recipe that I see mention of come up in a number of posts by different folks.  I found it by searching but was hoping to be able to somehow save it so I can keep going back to it for guidance.

I would also like to track other folks as well.  I wont mention all their names but there are a bunch..

I guess I kinda want to be like a bread stalker.... Sorry just sounded funny in my head.

Anyways, am I missing something or is this not what this tab is for?

Thanks,

TT

Something got lost in one of the upgrades. I got it back in, so now you'll see a "Subscribe blog" link on the bottom of someone's blog entry. There is also a "<" link that goes nowhere... I'm having a hard time figuring out where that is coming from.

Note that subscribing to someone's blog means you'll get their entries via email. I'm trying to find something that just lets you put together a list of your own bookmarks on the site.

Thanks Floydm, for your rapid reply.  I will look into it now.

That is pretty cool... there is a "add to favorites" link on the bottom of a story now. Click that on a story you like, then go your profile and you'll see the link listed there.

I like that. Seems like a nice way to keep track of stories you want to come back to.

I do think there are getting to be too many controls on the bottom of stories and comments though. We may need to do a vote at some point soon and find out which ones people actually find useful, then clean out the others.

I like the "Add to favorites" link, it is exactly what I was looking for. I have already placed a couple threads on my favorties to watch.  The adding blogs section is nice as well, but requires the additional steps of pulling up all of a specific persons blog, then go to the specific thread you are looking for, then pull up that thread.

Favorties link is proving much quicker, point-click-done.. I like it.

Not to mention anytime someone looks into another persons file, they will see what threads they are following as a favorite.  Dont know if many of us out there look into other peoples files, but I do.  It should also kind of make someone proud that their thread made it on someones favorite list (does that sound cheesy?, oh well)

Well done Floydm

The Insert/Edit link (the chain link symbol) at the top of my comment boxes is never "hot." What am I missing here?

That one is a little weird. You have to write the text that want to be anchor for the link, then select the text. When you have text selected, the chains will activate. Cick it to enter the url and when you submit the anchor text will be hot.

Not how I would have designed it, but that is how it works.

That's the hint I needed! Thanks ever so much!
