New girl
I have been looking to this site for guidance in baking bread a lot lately and I finally decided to join you guys. I'm new to baking. I've had more mess ups than successes so far, but I am determined! I look forward to meeting all of you and seeking your help when I take on my next failed bread venture!
Glad you decided to join in the fun. Most of us started where you did and have learned to make great breads here. I look forward to seeing your work.

Glad you have joined - I am very new to sourdough and have only this year tried systematically to improve my bread baking. Previously it was a very hit and miss affair. As I type I have some sourdough supposedly proving before going into the oven. Fingers crossed ............
Oh, I hope your bread comes out beautifully! I am convinced that my bread can sense my fear lol. It seems like if I am baking for myself then it turns out perfectly. If I'm trying to show off to my mother or future in laws then it is a complete failure. But I haven't given up! My main problem has been my oven, but I finally got an oven thermometer and am surprised at just how off it has been. Hopefully I will have more success now that I can monitor the temperature. I can't wait to bake my first sourdough. But I have to master this confusing starter first.
it wasn't too bad - funny shape, but taste OK (to my taste buds, anayhow). I'm sure your in-laws to be appreciate your efforts to bake bread.
I just welcomed another Newbie with some tips in a note entitled "Clues to greater happiness on TFL" or some such thing. Put my name (richkaime) into the search box to find it if you don't see it on the home page right now.
Welcome!!! I'm glad you've joined too! I have learned so much from MANY in the group here! It's a great site! You should check out some of Floyds stuff over there on the left hand side. It's great for just starting! The Blueberry Cream Cheese Braid IS AWESOME!!! AND A SHOW STOPPER!! Try some of his stuff! Look forward to seeing you around!!
