basil parmesan bread recipe needed

Some years ago there was a health food grocery store in San Diego with an awesome bakery. My favorite bread was a rustic basil parmesan bread which I now believe was also sourdough, but not sure. I've tried to figure this bread every few years but never get it right. Now that I know a little more about bread I'm thinking that part of the problem was that I was trying to bake a quick "french style" bread" with no sponge or any of the extra work that needs to go into bread to get a really good loaf. And I never used sourdough starter, am just now feeling I can add that challenge. But just in case someone already has a recipe they just haven't shared yet....I'd love to have it. It really was absolutely soooooo good.
