Jeff Hertzberg (Artisan Bread in Five) because I took Japanese, Spanish, and Hebrew, never French.  In my mind I was saying Bou-lay.

But according to Jeff, it's Bool, rhymes with pool.

OH.  I'm sure there are some rules to pronouncing French words, but I never learned them.  One of these days I'd like to.

All of the other attempts, however, are hilarious.

Here are some other baking terms, probably more than anyone wants to know: http://www.thefreshloaf.com/node/9848/french-baking-terms

It is pronounced "BOO-l". In French you don't pronounce the "e" at the end of most words.

French has such a hard pronounciation system! lol

That's trouble with a capitol "T" that rhymes with "B" and that stands for "boule" :)  (ouch)
