Tartine Country Loaf pics

Here are a couple of pictures of a Tartine Country Loaf I made today. This was the better looking of the two loaves. I flipped the second loaf seam side up into the dutch oven by accident so the surface and slashing didn't look as pretty. Though the rise is just fine and I'm sure the bread is lovely. Thanks for looking!

ElissaBee -

You have to be happy with those loaves! And the crumb is what we all strive to achieve. The Tartine Country Loaf is my favorite lately. I can practically smell yours from the picture. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for such nice comments! Yes, this loaf was prepared in the cast iron dutch oven. This is truly delicious bread, I never thought I'd ever be able to make something like this at home.

I didn't take any photos of the other loaf because as I said, it flipped into the hot pot the wrong way so it was seam side up. No big deal as far as taste and rise, but the crust didn't look as perfect.

I'm using the Tartine recipe for the Country Loaf as it appears on page 2 of this article: http://www.marthastewart.com/how-to/tartine-country-bread

elissabee,

Wow! I would have that picture framed if I had been blessed to create such a loaf. Way to go!
