Hi from Washington State!
Having burned up 2 Kitchenaids making dough (3 if you count the one that jumped off the counter and committed suicide) I found this site while trying to figure out what would be a good replacement. My Electrolux DLX is on its way and should be here next week.
Looking forward to learning tricks/techniques to improve my bread and pizza dough!
Welcome, lucretia. Wow, 3 Kitchenaids (including the self-destruction)? You must run a tough kitchen. I bet you will love your DLX. I don't have one but I hear many good things, and some less good things too, about them. What kind of breads do you bake? I look forward to hearing more about your baking. You've come to the right place.
OldWoodenSpoon
maybe a lemming ancestor, that makes them throw themselves from the kitchen counter - my Cuisinart survived her suicidal impulse, though, with some broken plastic parts, and an ever opening attachment flap...
Welcome to TFL,
Karin
I have had two Kenwood bench mixers. The frist one tended to dance around on the bench and tried to end its life twice. I picked it up, and plugged it back in and it worked, albeit with a couple of scratches and a chip to the low speed plug cover. Worked well for several more years until I gave it to my daughter and bought the Kenwood Major with the stainless steel everything and a more powerful motor with bigger capacity bowl. All the accessories I had fitted both.
It stays on the bench nicely and makes lovely yeasted doughs and all sorts of cakes. I never use it for sourdough.
