flour source
I know that a lot of you go through a lot of flour. I use Dawn Foods in Denver. They have 20 locations arround the country. I buy KA Sir Galihad for $13.63 for 50#. You do have to buy 40 or 50# bags. www.dawnfoods.com You should call them and ask for their product list. the web site will help you with locations and contact #'s

I buy both all-purpose and bread flour at Costco (Northern CA) and had good luck with them. All-purpose is about $14.50/50-lb bag, bread flour is a little more expensive.

Can you provide the item #?
Thanks, I look forward to ordering about 500lbs to last me a few months heh.
Here's the pages from their catalog.
In some cities, (like Houston) Dawn requires that you set up an account, meaning you need to have a business. They also have a $75 minimum order. Outlets in other cities do cash and carry, but I don't know about minimum orders.
MARTY,
I have used Dawn Foods in Denver as well. Drop me a line and maybe we can split some 50# specialty flours.
I'll keep that in mind. feel free to contact me if you have anything in mind.

About a month ago, I called Dawn Foods in Atlanta, GA to inquire about a purchase as an individual. The operator told me they only sold to business.
Anyone in the Atlanta area purchasing from Dawn that does not have a business license?
Tell them you have a friend who does it in another location and see what they say. Please don't mention the city however. I'd hate to ruin a good thing.
Any bakers open to the idea of splitting a flour order? I've made contact with a Dawn Foods sales rep in Ontario.
I'm only ordering 50lb bags of flour, probably KA Lancelot. If you're interested in a few bags let me know via PM. I don't have any interest in splitting bags.
Thanks
I would be interested. I have sent you an email (I think) through your user profile.
Thanks,
Janice
