I'm A Newbie that's not so New. :)
I'm a newbie here, posting on the forum I mean. I've quite enjoyed getting to see all the lovely bread and creations that are posted here on the site. I am an aspiring bread baker myself, and would love to have the books that so many have spoken so highly of on here, and with the photos, I'm convinced that they are well worth the time and money to get - although I don't have the latter at this time to get them. :/ maybe some day.

Here is some really good avice. Go to the library. I don't know how good the library is in your neighborhood, but the one near me is just great, I have borrowed many of these books for free, some multiple times. And here is another tip. Occasionally I email the library and request books that they do not have yet , and they go right out and purchase them! There are allot of books on bread making that are not really the best beginners along with those that are best avoided all together (but are so full of pretty pictures) so it is a good idea to see what you are spending your cash on first.

I never thought of going to the library. I will have tpo do that. Thanks a bunch! I've been wanting to try some of Peter Reinhart's recipes, but couldn't find any of them online. I've seen lots of pretty photos though. thanks again!
I whole heartedly endorse Russ' recommendation. My local library didn't have Reinhart's "The Bread Baker's Apprentice", but another library within the same library system did have it and my local library arranged to have the book sent to them. Each time it came due for return I checked to find it had not been reserved by someone else so I simply renewed it and took it home again. After four renewals I decided I'd just buy the book for my own library and returned the loaner. Borrowing a book from the library is a good way to take a close look to see if it's something you might want to add to your own personal collection; then you can buy it - often at a discount.
