8" utility peel
Hi everyone,
I've have a 14" metal peel with wood handle, an old weed cutter I've modified for a moving hot coals, a commercial cotton mop with wood hanle, metal snow shovel for scooping coals and a five foot long fishing gaff I've modified for a bubble popper. I'd reallu like to have a 8" utility peel but i'm having a hard time justifying paying $70.00 plus dollars for one. Does anyone know of a utility peel out there with a little more reasonable price tag?

from a restaurant supplier. Sorry, I don't remember the name, but I think I posted it here on TFL. In any case, do a google.
Best !

I'm guessing the $70 one you're looking at is stainless steel. These small steel peels are often used to tend the fire, as opposed to move food around. So they need to be $teel instead of aluminum.
I got my aluminum peel from a local restaurant supplier for around $20. If I wanted a smaller one and couldn't find it, I'd just buy the bigger one and cut it down to whatever size/shape I wanted. Aluminum cuts easily enough.

They are used to tend the fire, move casseroles around but there main function I believe is to rotate pizzas. I thought of modifying a larger aluminum peel but I don't think it would not be stiff enough to move pans. I just thought I would try yo find this tool at a better price. Thanks for the postings.
Here's one for $16.50..... They even have a smaller one, but it's better quality and more expensive...
