Ciabatta results
First ever ciabatta and I feel quite chuffed. Would like larger holes but I'll work on that. Tastes devine and went well with the pasta, parm and pinot we had for supper :-)
Thanks to Mark for suggesting Anis' french baguette recipe in the event this one didn't work out. I'll be trying that one soon.
Cheers,
Janet
Despite few ingredients, ciabatta is not an easy task to tackle, and you did a great job!

I was happy with the results. The crust it so crispy and I love it.
I'm going to be making some sweet bread for next Tuesday's inauguration following your recipe. Only thing is I don't have a dry measure scale... I've dropped the hint with my husband so hopefully he picked up on my not so subtle request and I'll have one by the weekend :-)

Ain't nothing wrong with you first Ciabatta that I can see. Did you know the same dough makes great rolls, too? Just kneed it longer.....
Good hint. I'll give it a try. The first time I made rolls it was a KAF recipe and what a disaster. Didn't rise, looked all dry and chewy, smelt yeasty and tasted like beer. I think it was a combination of oil (I thought it was too much and was right), too much yeast and not having a feel yet for kneading. Perfect example of what not to do.
I'll try this recipe for rolls sometime but first I'm trying Mark's sweet bread recipe 'cause his video looks fab, it's probably beyond me at this stage but I want to give it a try.
Cheers!
Janet
and you chose great complements.
Cheers....
I only discovered this site by coming across Mark's videos on YouTube, going to his website and finding the link to The Fresh Loaf. The rest is history and I'm now a homemade bread baking convert.
