Your tax dollars at work
This amuses me: on October 17, 2002 the US Senate passed a bill making November "National Bread Month" [1]. This as a result of campaign contributions from grain companies displeased by the low carb diet crazes, no doubt.
I'm pleased it mentions that "Americans are demonstrating a new interest in artisan and home-style types of breads, increasingly found in cafes, bakeries, restaurants, and homes across the country." At least we get some credit
My new motto: "The Fresh Loaf: Implementing Senate Resolution 148 of the 107th Congress (2nd Session) Since February 2005."
