Hi, this is a great site and I'm wondering if there's anyone out there making the perfect bagel in Australia?
I'm Sydney-based and would love to hook up with the perfect bagel.
I haven't yet made the perfect bagel, or any bagels for the matter, but I have a recipe that looks good and am planning on doing so soon. I live in Byron Bay, Northern NSW. What they sell around here as bagels are soft mushy rolls with a hole in the middle!
I lived in Melbourne for a while - I resorted to making my own using the New York Times' cookbook recipe. When I was there, they came out FANTASTIC - however, the same recipe doesn't produce the same result in the US. Crazy, no?
