Just wanted to share my joy!

Hey,

I'm very excited! My husband bought me a KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer today! YAY!

I've wanted a KitchenAid for about 5 years (they're a bit expensive down here in Oz) and today I got home to discover it, well it took me a few hours to realise actually. Hubby had set it up on the kitchen bench and I went about making dinner not even realising it was there! That's how unexpected it was!

I can't wait for the weekend to come so I can start baking - YAY!!!

Lauren,

What a great surprise!  I have the same mixer and use it almost daily - sometimes even 2-3 times a day.  I bake all our bread using it and don't even blink at the thought of making double batches of chocolate chip cookies.  Mine has earned every inch of the space it takes up on the counter.

Enjoy!

Such a lovely gift, Lauren!  What color is it?  My KA Artisan (black) is about a year old and has gotten a real workout during that time.  Gone are the days of mixing cookie dough with one hand holding the hand mixer and the other fumbing around for the next ingredient.

Enjoy!

It's Charcoal! It goes nicely with everything else in the kitchen.

I think I'm going to make a banana souffle tonight! Only 1.5hrs left of the working week and me and my KA will be permanently attached for the next 48 hours LOL!

My Kitchen Aid is older than my marriage! I got an unbelievable shower gift from my aunts before I got married 31 years ago. Back then it was considerd very expensive and I was so appreciative-I do not come from a wealthy family. It has been my most used appliance and still runs like a champ. I've worn out 1 paddle/replaced it and still use the mixer often.

COngratulations! Your husband obviously appreciates tools because he bought you a fantastic tool. You will wonder how you functioned without it.
