Hi from Oklahoma

I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been baking bread successfully for about 5 years. I had been trying my whole married life to make good bread and rolls, but didn't manage it until my In-laws gifted me with a book titled The Tassajara Bread Book. It took me step by step through the bread making process and finally I ended up with really good bread, and rolls everyone loved at family gatherings.

Then a month or so ago, my kids and I started a sourdough starter made out of plain water and flour for a homeschool project. It took off like a shot, and we have been making bread with out of that starter since, with varying degrees of success. I started looking for help on the net, and I found this site (which I love, no pretentiousness amoung the bakers here!) and it has helped some. It seems there are quite a few techniques and methods to bread making, and I haven't even scratched the surface!

Anyway, I am going to try and join in on the discussions, although shyness still gets the best of me most times, even on the internet. You all are a great group of people, and I hope to learn more here for some time to come.

Look forward to hearing about your experiences! This site and
the people have been very helpful for me..a novice, baking bread
for about 3 or 4 months. A wealth of info here!
