Best French Bread EVAR!

Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks so much for this awesome site. I studied all day yesterday (well, a couple of hours at least) watched the training videos (esp the Julia Child's ones) and today turned out a French bread loaf that looked like it came from the store. The wife's wanting another round next weekend.

Also... dinner tonight was hot french bread, fresh grilled brats, a plate of cheeses and a small bowl of italian pesto, all washed down by 1554 beer from New Belgium Brewing. All of that served out in our backyard at dusk with a fire going in the fire pit.

Thanks once again! I'll be lurking around and baking things from here. Great place!!!

Hi, LazySumo.

Welcome to TFL!

I gather your bread got devoured before you had a chance to take photos to show us. Well, maybe next time ...

Tell us more about what you like to bake and what you haven't baked yet but want to. The chances are pretty good there is information and advice here that will help you get where you want to go.

Thanks, David. I'll have pics next weekend, I promise.

I do seem to be unable to find the 'recipes' section, or are they just scattered through the forum posts? Any pointers?

Hi, LazySumo.

Use the search box in the upper left corner of the web page.

OK, can do. Would be nice if there were a list to browse though whenever I'm looking for inspiration.

Thanks!!

There's a list of favorite recipes on the lefthand side of the screen. Lots of inspiration there! But David's right. A ton of recipes scattered throughout the site, too, and the way to find them is by using the search box. You'll also stumble upon them as you read the blog entries and forum posts.

Welcome aboard!
