Degas?


Could someone tell me what degas means?

Degassing defined

Degassing means to release some of the trapped air inside your loaf. Also know as "punching down," though you can degas by other means than literally punching down the loaf.

Oh..for cryin out loud.I thought it was some fancy technique..
LOL..TY..I appreciate your help!!! Too many terms to learn as a
novice..I was pronouncing it with a French accent!
