Hello from snowy Wisconsin

Hi everyone -

I've been lurking here for a little over a year now (found the site doing some other searching, joined, and bookmarked it for when I had more time to bake).  I figured it was high time I said hello.  My name is Apryl, I live just outside Milwaukee with my husband, son, and four cats (with hopes to move closer to family in Arizona in the near future)  Now that my son is 10 months old, I'm finding that he allows me a bit more time to do things around the house, and I bake in between his naps!  I used to bake with my mother when I was little, she made breads, sweet roll (mmmm maple rolls) doughnuts, and so many other things, but I haven't had time to do any baking of note since I graduated and got a 'real' job (20 years!) My job as a Lab Tech doesn't allow for much creativity, so I'm taking full advantage of the fact that I can bake on weekends, and this site has been a great inspiration and resource.  My biggest limitation is my tiny kitchen - not much larger than most apartment kitchens, and little counterspace (I find really creative places to let things rise)  I love baking because it offers so much for so little - you start out with such simple ingredients, put in a little love and work, and are left with something wonderful that you created.  I look forward to the day when my son is old enough to join me baking, so I can pass on this craft.

Hi Apryl,
Glad to see another Wisconsinite here. We live near Mukwonago also near MKE. Hope to see your posts in the future. There are a few of us Fresh Loafians scattered about the state. We are the lucky ones who can export snow by the truck load.
