Hi from a very wet Northern California

Hi there! I'm new to The Fresh Loaf but not new to baking--I started when I was in grade school and "graduated" to bread-making about 50 years ago. These days I keep my household supplied with all our baked goods except hamburger and hot dog buns, and am now branching out to breads and baked goods we can't get locally (good rye bread; decent bagels; bialys; etc.).

When I'm not baking, or making jams, jellies, pickles, and sauces, I'm a fiber and textile artist who focuses primarily on handweaving. The picture says it all: baking, canning, and handweaving.

That's some mighty fine product you show there.  You'll find most of what you need here for your rye, bagels and (possibly) bialys ambitions.  Many fans here of Stan Ginsberg (The Rye Baker) who has been known to visit these internet parts.

Yes it was indeed a wet one today.  Here in 95033 we had rain, buckets of hail and some snow.  Fun once in a while but never on Highway 17!

Happy Baking,

Tom
