Some people consider their cars their baby, I consider my mixer my treasure.

I was just cleaning up in the kitchen as a Saturday morning chore. I just gave my mixer a more thorough cleaning treatment than I usually give it and then I just petted it and looked at it admiringly. Man, I love this machine.

I bought it secondhand 10-11 years ago and I use it probably once a week on average - more in winter, less in summer. I use it to mix bread, cookie dough, etc. The ONLY thing it can't do is mix Italian meringue buttercream. For that, I take out the KitchenAid mixer I bought AFTER buying this machine which was my first stand mixer.

The KA is OK (I have the Pro 600) and while it works great for the buttercream I make, I feel very "eh" about it for anything else.

Anyway, I figured only here would people appreciate a deep fondness for a bread appliance! :-) If this thing ever dies, I'll replace it NEW in a heartbeat.

It is very pretty...

It also really looks like that arm at the top should be where the wringer is. ?

(My parents had a wringer washing machine from the 1940s when I was small)
