Deck Oven Exhaust port

Hello,

I have recently test run my brand new gas deck oven but don't know how the exhaust post levers functions.

I have tried to observe what exactly happens while pulling and pushing the exhaust lever right beside the control panel but nothing much visible as the air vent seems flushed along the chimney.

Can someone tell me exactly what happens if i pull the exhaust lever and otherwise.

This machine I have is of Chinese origin so its quite possible that its lever might be designed to work the opposite way.

Please advise.

Who makes it?  Generally a manufacturer uses the same design in every situation where it is relevant.

You may have to design a test setup and run it in position A and then in position B.  If you can't tell any difference, then I suspect there isn't one.  One way might be to hang a bag of rock salt in the exhaust port in a stainless mesh with a drip can right below it, then run a cycle in position A and see if the mesh and contents loses weight.  Then repeat in the other position.  Make sure there is a pan of water in the oven for both tests.  The position that is associated with the least weight loss should be the closed position.
