Anpan tastes

The bread itself tastes like a yeasty sweet roll. Soft and light in texture.  If you're using an egg enriched recipe with butter then it will taste a lot like brioche.

The anko tastes earthy and sweet. I discovered some of my old notes on anpan and made a modification to the recipe I posted yesterday which I'm just about to update.

FP, Thanks for the

FP,

Thanks for the information.  From the photo it looks like brioche and appears to have the same texture.  The interior filling looks really interesting.  I'll look at the updated recipe post and give it a try next week.  I've made brioche and this looks like a very interesting and great recipe. You do very good work.

FP Whoops...Sorry about my

FP

Whoops...Sorry about my previous posting (with your previous photo) re: interior.  From where i'm sitting that roll looks truly wonderful... O.K. how did it taste?  Are they like pain au chocolat, only with a different dough?  I must apologize but I know nothing about anpan.  You've really got me curious and interested. I'm going to find the recipe and try to make them.  You did a great job.
