Banneton...Rattan vs.Cane

Hi!

I'm about to purchase my first banneton(s) and I would like some guidance to what you guys think is best.

- My local supplier states it's a product of the Vietnamese and that it's Rattan Cane

It does not have the normal found linen but other material that he says it's better..Have you heard of a "Better" Cloth for retaining moisture than linen?

I'ma going to drop quite big load of cash and I've like to be cautious about it, I need your help!

My bread sizes will be about 1kg' of dough, what banneton sizes do you recommend that are proper for round banneton and oval banneton?

Thanks-a-lot!

?

Here's their site..

For me, his a little cheaper than ordering from Amazon(shipping costs), but if you guys recommend specific place I will order from there, please advice

Any advice...!

But I'll mention Lucky Clover Trading Company anyway.  They offer both lined and unlined baskets in cane and other materials.  And at very reasonable prices.

Although I got my bannetons elsewhere, one advantage of this site (http://www.brotformen24.de/index.php) is that you can get information matching sizes with dough weights.

yet, but their prices seem pretty reasonable  -- although of course the shipping charges could get crazy :  https://www.meilleurduchef.com/en/shop/bakery/bakery-equipment/banneton.html

The site is in English and French.

Happy shopping.

Those are the best prices I have ever seen and looks the best site to me from what you offered guys, most professional looking.

and they seem to have g reat quality but..the do not ship to Israel...:-(

Can you please share, how could I 'score' a good buy with my bannetons? , what should I search for in a basket?

I've seen some baskets with little oval holes throughout the banneton and some without any holes..?

I think I'll purchase from amazon, what do you recommend?

Thanks

Germany - no particular reason, other than a lot of brotformen suppliers are in Germany.  I don't know whether any of these will ship to Israel.

http://www.brotformen24.de/angebot.php  Prices look reasonable

https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=https://brotformen.com/&prev=search  Higher prices

https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=https://backshop24.de/Fachgeraete/Backstubenausstattung/Brotformen&prev=search

https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=https://www.intergastro.de/Brotformen.asp&prev=search Prices seem high

The above are some suppliers that I found with Google.  If Amazon has what you like at a price you accept, order from them.  Don't be afraid to ask at local bakeries where they buy their brotformen/bannetons.  They should be able to give you some tips.  Or see if you can locate a restaurant supply company.  Many of them sell baking-related equipment.

I hope you find what you want.

My inner thoughts are:

Aliexpress I can trust won't f*k me over

They look great and the price with shipping is a joke..

I've sent both sellers a remark that I want the bannetons to be in top shape

or else...:D

Let's see how goes with this purchase.

Amazon was way too expensive for one banneton only never the less few of them

and the Israely seller was expensive and I didnt like his cloth, it wasn't linen so.. sorry him...

I feel good about this purchase. I've bought quite few of them but, yeah..they are great presents too!
