Hello:

I am looking for a used 20 quartz mixers. I can not afford a Hobart one. Anyone who are making breads in large quantities that are using mixer now? What would you recommend?

Thank you.

I have a Univex SR30. I went for the 30 quart because the 20 quart might be just a little too small sometimes (like when I make a batch of 14 or 16 loaves). It's a floor model so you'd need a steady floor (ideally concrete) with enough space for it. Most important, it runs on household current (110) and is single-phase, so no re-wiring or permits needed. Also, it's made in the States (I'm in Canada) so easier to get parts and repairs. It was used; came from a cooking school program I think.

Hello Lazy Loafer:

Thank you. I will look into it. The 20 quart is big enough for me to make bread and pastry.
