Flo's original 1,2,3 post

Since the "1,2,3" formulation has been getting some airplay recently, via DanAyo's re-post of dab's 1,2,3, I thought it appropriate that credit be given to Flo Makanai, lest she be forever forgotten, who introduced the original 1,2,3 to Fresh Loaf almost 10 years ago.

Here's the link (Thank You to Floyd for restoring it).

1.2.3, An Easy Formula for Sourdough Bread

Flo still seems to be maintaining an independent blog in which her 1,2,3 implementations can be found here:

Happy 1,2,3 Baking,

I edited the recipe and credited Flo Makanai. Good to know.

... as Flo Makanai's post is dated 28 October 2008, its 10th anniversary is just round the corner.  Dan, maybe worth diarising for a "bake-off" to celebrate the occasion?

Brilliant! I just set an alarm to remind me about this. What a great way to celebrate an important recipe. Is anyone in contact with Flo? It would be great to have her input.

Joe, would you like to start the post for the bake around the October anniversary, or would you like me to get it going? Either way is fine with me.

... I am happy for you to run with this!

If you remember, please remind me. I set an alarm but I’d hate to miss the date.

... I will try not to forget to remember to remind you.  Okay, Danny?

Great! See you then. I’m thinking we could begin the bake at the beginning of October.

It should be fun...

Hmmmm, I'll have to see what I can do. I'll be travelling (from Western Canada to Australia and NZ) around that time, but if I am staying with friends and they have what I need to bake with, perhaps I can join in!

That would be fun, Leslie, for sure! We probably won't be in NZ until later in November, and I'm not sure how much unplanned time we have (the hubby does all the trip planning), but I'm trying to fit in a visit with you. :)
