Looking for a vessel for my future sourdough...

Well I found an old crock from a broken slow cooker....made a yeasted dough to test it. Was concerned about high temp on it. So put in a cold oven...Eureka!!!   Will see the crumb when cooled very crispy and light...fingers crossed but huge rise...will never get it in the toaster...lol

I like the way you're even testing pots and baking yeasted breads in them to be prepared for your first sourdough. Sourdough can be baked pretty much the same as your yeasted breads and vice versa. But pots (or dutch oven substitutes) do bring out the best in any bread. My final bread shaping is dictated so the loaf can fit in the bread box and toaster.

How's BK and Harp?

But had to try the crock was worried it might crack..so put in a cold oven where it proved and cooked all in one go...lol  BK is lagging but I’m giving him time...Harp is flying, this morning was lovely light and foamy and more than doubled from last nights feed...so fed both and used a bit of Harps discard to start another with small amount of W/W in it as well..can’t get the pic up I’m on the iPad...will post it separately...
