Here is something you dont see everyday....

My "new" vintage 1970's Mill and Mix combination flour mill and mixer all in one. I just made up a 4 loaf batch of wheat  dough which it handled like a champ. Now will this replace my venerable Kitchenaid or my beloved Ankarsrum? Most likely not as each have a place in my kitchen. I will add that this did grind some hard red winter wheat into a very fine  flour which I put through a 60 mesh sieve. I softened the leftover bran and added it back into the dough while mixing. This is a beast of a machine weighing in at around 90 lbs. Not something you want to moving around a lot, for me it will be staying on the counter top for now while I give it a through testing to determine its strengths and weaknesses.

Very cool.  Love to see more photos of the mixer.

Wow! I wouldn’t be moving it either. It is very cool though! Pictures of it in action would be awesome!

Never heard of such a thing, but it looks very heavy duty.  We love interesting vintage tools.  Can I ask where you found it, what it cost, and if there are any accessories for the mixer?  Enjoy playing with it; sounds like you're off to a good start.  I wouldn't give up my Ankarsrum either.

Bought on EBay. They come up for sale every so often but rarely have the mixing bowl and paddle. I paid a pretty penny for this one at 300 dollars, but it was in such good shape and I have been looking for one for quite some time. There is little to no information about the mixer or the company that made it that I have been able to find. I don't believe there are any other accessories.

Cheers,

Rick
