Rye Flour
Hello All,
I'm in Melbourne Australia and I am having trouble finding Rye Flour anywhere, is it true that this type of flour reaches it's half-life pretty quickly and becomes pretty close to plain flour over a few weeks, and also would it be better to mill the flour at home??
regards,
chris

I too have difficulties getting rye flour here. Had to travel very far just to get it. I only can get fine rye flour, no pumpernickel ground :(.
About the expiry, the printed one on the packet seem to be just like any other flour, perhaps not bleached ones.
*PS: I always look for it in the organic sections. Mebbe try organic foodstores? :)
Btw, if manage to find em, can u plz tell me where you got them? :) I'll be going to Melb early next year. ;)
We get our rye flour from Manildra, but I reckon you could try a delicatessan or somewhere like David Jones. You could always give Manildra a call and see if they know of shops that sell it. Good luck.
I found a shop in Vic Market that sell rye flour.
Reasonably priced too.
David Jones sell it at too high a price i think...
thanks anyway! :D
