Bread dabbler from S.F. Bay Area

I joined this site because I was given a starter and would like to do more things with it. 

At first I felt like someone dropped a stray cat on my doorstep, as this was given to me by my daughter's friends mom.  She's very nice, so I didn't want to hurt her feelings by saying," OMG you're giving me a job!" but now I'm glad as the starter is not hard to maintain, and eveyone likes the bread it makes.

 Now reading through the posts, I've been inspired to make more interesting starters.  

I've been baking and cooking for at least 30 years, but haven't done bread since my kids were babies.  Now they're in high school, so you can see it's been a while! lol.

 Lots of good info and interesting bits on this site.  I'm looking forward to trying out some new recipes and techinques!

You have definitely come to the right place!

There is a wealth of information and a myriad of helpful, experienced sourdough bakers on this site. I've learned more here in a few months than I've learned in years before.

Well, thank you very much for such a nice welcome! 

Yes, I'm looking forward to learning lots here.  I've found that when you have to cook everyday, it helps to get re-inspired from time to time.  Definately lots of inspiration here!
