I can relate on so many levels. Except I've got the opposite problem -- a baker trying to write (blog, really). But procrastinating all the same!

I remember when I was in grad school I used to find all kinds of things to do instead of writing papers. Laundry was one of those things, so to this day when I'm puttering around and procrastinating I still call all of that "doing laundry". Bread baking is a good thing for that, as there are always 'extra' little things one can do, like starting another starter, or grinding some kind of flour, or buying another bread book, or spending hours wandering around on The Fresh Loaf. :)
