I need a quick and easy way to make french bread with out using a starter ! is there any one out there that can help me ?
This is the one Floyd bakes for me all the time. Less now that he's all fired up about crumbum's miches, but it's still totally a favorite basic french bread - no starter required.

You could also make a decent French-style loaf using Floyd's "first loaf" if you don't have time for a poolish.
