TFL Introduction

hello:

I'm Jon in SoCal. Been baking bread since 1972 dual livelihood and enthusiast. Me and my friends owned a small bakery in Santa Cruz called Karmananda. Sold it in the late 70s. I have come to this community as a new Haussler owner. Pleasanthill was the distributor. About 15 minutes ago set the machine on my counter. It is an Alpha 2. Been saving for over a year to afford it. There is a paucity of reference on using the machine and the guys at Pleasanthill just lost their resident expert. I started a group on Facebook specifically to use as a chronicle of my adventures. The name of the group is 'Friday is Pastry Day'. It is an open group so welcome. I have a starter a la tartine ready to mix but I'm gonna wait until tomorrow morning.

Also there is a Meetup in Los Angeles I am a member of 'LA BreadBakers' Eric Knutsen (sp?)  is my contact there . . . great guy!  I buy my Flour through them in 50lb bags. Looke them up if you are interested.

Thanks for having me.

Jon

Welcome!

Sounds like you love baking; you're going to find a lot of like-minded folks here. Best wishes with your new toy. Have fun!

You'll find at least a couple of TFL members have Hausslers, so post questions if you have them.  They will probably be able to give you answers.

I used to bake sourdough bread back in the 90's and I'm finally getting back into it. I just hope I can achieve the same results I had back then.--
