Electric Slicer

I have a Bosch electric slicer that is about 14 years old. The blade is getting dull and I can't find a replacement. I've been looking at new slicers, but the low end good slicers are about $100, which I think is a little high.

Does anyone have any recommendations? i purchased a Cooks slicer from JC Penny and the only way to get the blade off to clean it is by removing three screws...not real convenient. Also, tho motor seems very slow and sluggish. The price was right, on sale for $39, but I'm wondering if I'd be better off to put the $39 towards a better one.

Thanks!

There is a sharpener

for it. It is not very big maybe 2 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" long, almost 2" wide:

Sharpener for Slicer: This came with my Graef machine: It is designed to use like cutting a thick slice of bread. Held into place and run the disc to sharpen. My machine is 25yrs old and I've sharpened it about 4 times.

And from above looks like this:

Sharpener for Slicer: It still has to be scooted up to the blade. It doesn't take much and over in a second or two.

Crazy as it may sound, one could print out the pictures above and head for nearby hardware store.

I too have a bosch slicer Model EAS 55 that is probably older than 14 years old.  The gears just seized but the blade is in great condition and sharp.  Maybe it will work for your slicer.  Check your model # & let me know.  Lorri
