New member - baking & cooking in the Pacific Northwest

I have been a frequent visitor to The Fresh Loaf for the past two years.  Absolutely wonderful site, full of great recipes and tips.  I really appreciated the "Lessons", which were my first stop upon discovering The Fresh Loaf.  Cooking and baking are my hobbies and (as I imagine is true of most of you) my free time is spent in the kitchen.  I'm a good home cook and baker - but not a great one.  I love to experiment and definitely have my share of flops and failures.
Looking forward to learning more about the bread making process!

Lurking for two years!  Well it's about time!  Glad you made the jump. :)  Now dive in and get  doughy!

Glad you finally decided to join us. Where are you located? I'm in Oregon. Looking forward to hearing about your bread baking experiences.

Yes, two years of lurking is a long time.  Can you believe that I don't have a single friend or family member who bakes, let alone bakes bread.  When I have a "flop" I have no one to help me try and figure out what went wrong.  This is what prompted me to join The Fresh Loaf forum.

There is a good side to having all non-baking friends - I can impress the heck out of them by simply baking a loaf of bread.  They act as if I had preformed a magical feat.  When I make the incredibly easy no-knead bread, I always casually mention that it took me over 24 hours to make ;)

Paddyscake, my home is in Gig Harbor, Washington.  I love Oregon and spend a lot of time there.
