Can I use this Enamelled roasting dish at high temperature

Rescued my old enamelled (steel) roasting dish from hubby's workshop where it has languished for a few years and gave it a good clean up.  I don't want to go to the expense of a dutch oven. so wonder if I can use this instead.  There are a few scratches and chips (see below) but mostly it is still good. I want to be certain it is ok to use this at up to  say 260degrees celcius.  Any thoughts anyone?  I usually make batards so the oval shape will be perfect.

I can't think of any reason that it would not be fine.  I use enameled cast iron for bread baking occasionally and it has no problems.

I'm sure it will work.

Just fyi, I purchased a 2.7 (?) qt ceramic oval dutch oven by Paula Dean from Walmart for around $27.  It doesn't burn the bottom like my Le Creuset ceramic-coated cast iron dutch ovens do.  And you can't beat the price.   I pre-heat it to 525 degrees Fahrenheit too.  I do expect it to shatter one of these days.   I'm very careful to always put the hot lid or pan on oven mits or pads and never on cold metal grates or other cold surfaces.  So far it works fabulously.   It holds up to a 2 lb dough (900g).

That's a very nice roaster, even with chips it will work just fine!   :)

I have a Cuisinart enameled dutch oven and it works fine.  I also like to use parchment....turn the banneton over onto to it and it makes lifting the dough into it a breeze.

amazing at the ideas you get from the folks here - would never have thought of this otherwise.  and I think there lurks an enamelled steel pot at the back of the cupboard that I could use as well.  a happy baker!!
